A better way to power your home.
And the grid.
How it all
works together.
Daytime runs on solar
Your rooftop panels power your home directly during the day and charge your sonnen batteries with the surplus, up to 60 kWh of storage with a standard system.
Backup that just works
When the grid drops, your sonnen batteries kick on in a few seconds. Lights, refrigerators, and essential outlets stay powered, through summer storms and winter freezes alike.
Grid services pay the bill
Your battery contributes to a Virtual Power Plant during peak demand, barely-noticeable dispatches and other grid services that earn revenue. That's what covers the cost of your equipment, not your wallet.

The Virtual Power Plant
One battery. Two jobs.
Your sonnen battery powers your home. It also helps support the local grid, quick, barely-noticeable dispatches of stored energy during high-demand moments. The revenue from those grid services is what covers your equipment cost.
sonnen's 11th-generation technology supports more than a dozen grid services, frequency regulation, voltage support, and fast-response dispatches lasting 30 seconds to 5 minutes. That's what makes it a real Virtual Power Plant, and what keeps the lights on in your neighborhood.

Peace of mind
The lights stay on.
When the grid drops, your sonnen batteries take over in a few seconds. Refrigerators keep running. Lights come back on. Your essentials stay powered, through summer storms and winter freezes alike.
The system backs up essential loads, lights, outlets, refrigerators, small appliances. During daytime outages, your solar continues charging the batteries for extended runtime. SOLRITE manages all settings, including storm mode.
